Family-owned
Superior Wood Furniture, located at 469 W. Ridge Road is going out of business.
Owners Ken and Robin Fisher decided it was the right time to close.
The business started in 1950. At the time, it was the first and only unfinished furniture store in the area. It's located in the Kodak neighborhood.
They recently sold the building located at the corner of Ridge Rd. and Dewey Ave. to a company called ReHouse; an architectural salvage store.
Everything at Superior is now on sale.
"My whole adult life was spent in this location. I have spent more time here than anywhere else in my life, so it is bittersweet to be moving on at this point," said Ken Fisher, Owner of Superior Wood Furniture.
Superior will close at the beginning of August. Fisher says he plans to travel to visit family and continue teaching and practicing massage therapy.
