A family's worst fears became reality as the loved ones of Alex Sullivan issued a statement confirming his death in a deadly shooting rampage.
He died on his 27th birthday when he went to see "The Dark Knight Rises" in a suburban Denver movie theater.
Sullivan's cousin last heard from him moments before the early morning showing of the Batman movie in Aurora. Sullivan's cousin, Jim Schwab, of Rochester, says family was unable to reach him Friday.
Schwab told the Denver Post that 20 of Sullivan's cousins, aunts, and uncles all live in the Rochester area.
Sullivan's father was in Colorado yesterday, desperately searching for his son before his death was confirmed.
Sullivan actually works at the movie theater, but was there as a patron celebrating his 27th birthday.
His last post on his Facebook page states, "The Dark Knight Rises. O-M-G Counting Down 'til it starts. Can't wait. Going to be the best birthday ever."
