Rochester Man Accused of Beating Children
A Rochester man is facing assault charges after police say he beat two children, ages five and seven. Police say the abuse happened over the past month.
Marquis Hucks, 36, is accused of two counts of second degree assault. Police say he grabbed a five-year-old boy and repeatedly slammed his head into kitchen cabinets.
He's also accused of beating a seven-year-old girl with a belt buckle and slamming her head into a car door.
Police say the children were treated for pain, soreness, cuts and abrasions.
YNN has learned Hucks, is a Level 3 Sex Offender, considered a sexually violent offender. He was convicted in 1993 of first degree sodomy. He was released from prison in 2008.
Hucks is due back in Rochester City Court Friday for a preliminary hearing.
