One of the two children rescued from the Erie Canal on Wednesday has been released from the hospital.

Officials at Strong Memorial hospital tell us that Sam Clanton, 8, of Florida, has been released. Sam and his sister Selah were pulled out of the canal by their father and a couple of University of Rochester Medical students before first responders arrived. Their two-child stroller had fallen into the water while they were out for a walk with their father.

Selah remains in guarded condition at Strong Memorial hospital.
