A new poll finds Republican Chris Collins and Rep. Kathy Hochul, D-Amherst, to be neck and neck in their race for the 27th Congressional District seat.

The Siena College poll finds challenger Collins to hold a slim 47 percent to 45 percent lead over incumbent Hochul among likely voters.

That gap falls within the poll's three-point-nine percent margin of error.

Voters identified jobs, the federal budget and health care as the most important issues in the newly redrawn district, which will now span eight counties in Western New York.

The poll also found district voters favor repealing the Affordable Care Act, and GOP challenger Mitt Romney leads President Obama in the district.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz reacted to the poll Sunday on Twitter, saying, "Not surprised to see Hochul and Collins in a dog fight. Been like that all year and will be so through election day."

The poll was commissioned by the Buffalo News and WGRZ.
