ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old city resident is recovering after being shot on Carter Street early Thursday morning.

Rochester Police say three people were walking on Carter Street around 12:30 a.m. when a vehicle driving by fired shots out a window. Police say the teenage boy was shot once in the lower body. The victim managed to get to Saint Jacob Street by the time police arrived.

The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with what police believe are non-life threatening injuries. Police say the other two pedestrians were not injured.

Police do not have any suspects in custody.
