Fairport High School is trying to encourage drivers and bicyclists to share the road. The issue is a personal one for the school community.
High school teacher Heather Boyum was killed when she was run over by a car in Penfield last month.
Organizers hope this effort will honor her memory.
"Because Heather was every one of us. She's a mom; she's an athlete; she's a teacher. She's someone who's doing everything right. So I think we can all identify with her in some respect," said Mary Eggers, bicyclist.
Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn was also on hand at the meeting to answer questions.
