ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Rochester Police are investigating the city's latest homicide. It happened just after 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning on Bernard Street. This is the second shooting in the neighborhood in just two days.

"It's not friendly anymore," said Bill Brand, neighborhood resident.

Brand has lived in his home on Bernard Street all his life. He says you can tell by the bullets that riddle the side of his home that his neighborhood is no stranger to violence.

"Well I got two brother-in-laws that say, 'Bill sell the house and get out of there.' Where can you live for x amount of dollars and think you can be safe," said Brand.

Early Saturday morning Rochester Police investigated the shooting of two men right in front of Brand's home. Police say a 20-year-old Rochester man was shot multiple times in the chest and was pronounced dead at the Strong Memorial Hospital. A 19-year-old Rochester man was also shot in the leg and is recovering from his injuries.

"They had yellow tape from my pole, porch there, to this tree, back to those polls over there," said Brand.

This is the second shooting off Carter Street in just two days. Thursday morning a 19-year-old man was shot and found one block North of Bernard on St. Jacob Street with non-life threatening injuries. While police say they are following leads in last night's shooting, both incidents are still under investigation and no suspects are in custody.
