For the second time in August a clear full moon lit up skies around the world.
Last night was the first blue moon of 2012, but it's not actually blue in color.
The term has two definitions, one is that it's the second full moon within one calendar month.
The older definition is that the blue moon is the third full moon of four in a season.
The next blue moon is scheduled to happen July 2015.
