Suspect Identified in Shooting Investigation as Family Mourns
Police have identified one suspect in the investigation into a shooting that occurred outside a Gates shoe store Friday.

The Gates Police department arrested Travaris Johnson Friday after a shooting that left Montre Bradley, 19, dead.

Johnson was charged with Reckless Endangerment and numerous other traffic charges all related to a pursuit in which he assisted a homicide suspect evade arrest.

Johnson's identity was revealed at the same hour as family and friends mourned Bradley's death at the scene of the crime.

A large crowd gathered for a vigil in honor of Montre Bradley in front of the store Street Game where he was shot Friday morning, while waiting in line to buy sneakers.

Balloons and candles filled the shopping plaza as some people leaving the other stores stopped to say a prayer.

The Street Game store has a sign in its window that said standing in line was not recommended until at least fifteen minutes before the store opened. Some family members of Montre Bradley question if waiting on line for any point in time for high-priced items is safe.

They say it's the store's responsibility to protect their customers. The sneakers Bradley was waiting in line for had a retail value of more than two hundred dollars.

During the vigil, Bradley's father shared memories of his son.

"He changed me. He made me a better person," said Timothy Lampley. "I miss my boy. There have been people coming to my house for retaliation purposes, please let's just keep the peace because that's what Montre would have wanted."

Bradley's family says he was planning on attending M-C-C in the fall and wanted to buy new sneakers for the school year, with money he had saved from working over the summer.

Right now funeral arrangements are on hold while the family tries to raise money
through donations on the PayPal website.

Gates Police say Johnson is not believed to be directly involved with the shooting of Bradley. They're still searching for the second suspect who fled on foot during the police pursuit.

Police are still investigating and searching for the other suspect. They ask anyone with any information to contact law enforcement.
