Thousands Came Out for US Women's Soccer

It was a sell-out crowd at Rochester's Sahlen's Stadium, as the U-S Women's Soccer team began its victory tour after winning gold at the London Summer Olympics. YNN's Geoff Redick spent the day out with the crowd and has the story.

They came from near and far. For a first-hand look at the newly-minted gold-medalists on the U-S Women's Soccer team and to see a 32-year-old local star, named Abby Wambach.

One fan said, "Just the way she moves the ball and everything. It's fun to watch."

Another fan added, "I love watching her headers. They're the best."

"Abby's a great role model. Alex Morgan's a great role model. They all are."

A convincing 8-0 win, including two goals by Wambach herself, wasn't the only positive that fans took away from the big game.

"It's just great to see professional women, representing for women who wanted to be athletes growing up. It was always my dream as a little girl to be an athlete, and I couldn't make that dream come true, but seeing these women play, give it their all and play their hearts out...they're just inspiring to me. And I'm so happy to be here."

13,208 fans shared the sentiment.
