Police say a motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries this morning in a four-vehicle crash. It happened around 9 a.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Scottsville Road.

Deputies say 54-year-old Craig Person of Rochester was riding southbound when a pickup truck, waiting to make a left hand turn, was rear-ended. The impact forced the pickup into the southbound lane where it collided with Person.

A Newark School bus, which was following the motorcycle at the time, also hit the truck.
No one on the bus was injured.

Person was transported to Strong Hospital with what police are calling life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV that rear-ended the pickup said he was distracted by a spilled cup of coffee. He was cited for following too closely.
