Charges may be pending in a bus crash Friday morning where several students were injured. It happened in the Ontario County town of Gorham right near Marcus Whitmas Central School.

According to Sheriff's deputies, a Marcus Whitman bus driver pulled into the intersection of Baldwin Road and County Road 1 around 7:30 a.m. Friday and collided with a pickup truck.
The bus then went off the road and landed on its side near a corn field.

Seven students on the bus, ranging from grades three to 12, were taken to Thompson Hospital for minor cuts and bruises.

"I was very frightened when I first saw the school bus laying on its side, but the students were there. A few tears, a couple of our staff members had stopped, they were driving into work and stopped and were there with the students," said Michael Chirco, superintendent.

Chirco says he wants to commend the students for the way they helped each other and handled a very tramatic situation. Some of the students did make it to school for the day.

The driver of the pick-up truck was also transported for minor cuts and bruises.

Sheriff's deputies said heavy fog was a major factor in the crash.
