Police in Gates have arrested a Rochester man for the shooting death of a teenager outside a shoe store last week.
Police charged William Wilkins with second degree murder and attempted robbery in the death of 19-year-old Montre Bradley.
Police say Bradley was in front of the Street Game Store in the Hinchey-Chili plaza waiting in line to buy a limited edition pair of Nike sneakers when two men approached the group and started an altercation.
Police say the two left, returned to the plaza, and then allegedly attempted a robbery. That's when police say Bradley was shot. He later died at the hospital.
Assistant District Attorney Timothy Prosperi says police are still searching for another suspect.
"He's charged as section twenty, or accessory of the law. Under accessory of the law, whether you are the person conducting that conduct or whether you are an accessory aiding and abetting you'd have the same criminal liability," Prosperi said.
Prosperi says he expects the case to be brought before a grand jury. A preliminary hearing is set for next Wednesday.
Police are continuing to search for the second suspect in the case.
