The Monroe County Health Department confirmed the first human case of West Nile this year.
Thirty-four total human cases of the West Nile Virus have been reported in New York State so far this year.
Dr. Andrew Doniger, the Monroe County Health Director, said the county expects to see more cases in the coming weeks.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 1,000 human West Nile cases have been reported nationwide so far this year, including 87 deaths.
