County Legislature to Repeal Medicaid Intercept
Democrats in the Monroe County Legislature are claiming a win after months of failed attempts to introduce legislation to repeal the county’s Medicaid Intercept.
County Executive Maggie Brooks submitted a resolution to rescind the Intercept in December.
The county plans to transition to a hard-cap option proposed by the Governor.
Brooks' resolution follows failed attempts by Democratic Legislator Paul Haney to have the Intercept rescinded. Democratic Legislators say Brooks' proposal contains identical fiscal impact as Haney's.
The repeal proposal will go before the Ways and Means Committee September 26th.
