Parkinson Foundation Hosts 'Moving Day' Event This Sunday

Everyone is invited to help the National Parkinson Foundation with "Moving Day".
The fundraising event is Sunday at MCC's Brighton campus. YNN is proud to be the media sponsor to help raise awareness about the movement disorder.
The National Parkinson Foundation supports those with the disease, their families and caregivers with support groups, mentoring and
exercise programs. It's focus is on research, education and outreach.
The Moving Day event is designed to be a fun and inspiring way to gets folks out walking and doing some yoga together. Exercise is one of the best treatments for Parkinson's.
Money raised at the event will help support the foundation's efforts.
Yvonne Hylton is the event spokesperson. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2007.
"Exercise is the best medicine for people with Parkinson's because it allows us to improve our stability and flexibilty and essentially maintain our independence for as long as possible," said Hylton.
As many as one million Americans has Parkinson's disease. Some 50,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Moving Day is Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the MCC campus on East Henrietta Road.
