Scott Miller salon in Pittsford is providing the stylists and makeup artists for all the models in the show. The Scott Miller creative team will be doing all the hair and makeup for the three fashion shows; that's 25 models a day. The Miller's say that donating time and resources back to the community is part of their team's core values.
Proceeds from Rochester's Fashion Week go to the Center for Youth that helps homeless youth with housing and programs.
"The Center for Youth is right in our home-we feel very passionate about that," said Helen Miller, salon owner. "It is a big commitment of time and money but we do feel it is certainly worth and we do feel grateful. For charity and for Center for Youth there is no question that it is deep in our hearts here at Scott Miller."
Staci Chandler, 19, lived at one of the shelter's at the Center for Youth for 18 months. She now has her own apartment, a job and is a full-time college student.
"I really appreciate it because the Center for Youth was a safe house when I didn't have one. It is really important that it keeps going because you learn so much," said Chandler.
Fashion Week is September 27-31. Tickets start at just $20 and can be purchased at any Wegmans. Fashion show venues include the Culver Road Armory, the Memorial Art Gallery, and Public Market.
