IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. -- A dog rescue shelter in Irondequoit is gearing up for its annual fundraiser. Nuts for Mutts is an all-volunteer dog rescue on Culver Road.
The organization will hold its annual fundraising dinner in October, which will include a four-course meal, as well as raffles and giveaways. All proceeds will go to Nuts for Mutts.
"Our mission is to educate people on the importance of spade and neutering your dogs. So, the money primarily goes to that, other vetting bills. If they need dental cleaning," explained Nicole Rongo-Sheehan, Volunteer Coordinator. "Some dogs come in and they're not in the best of shape, and they need some rehabilitation. So the money mainly goes towards vetting."
Tickets are on sale, and need to be bought before hand. The fundraising dinner is scheduled for October 17 at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at Hedges Restaurant on Lake Road in Webster.
