BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- Jerry Sandusky, former Penn State Assistant Football Coach, will be sentenced next month after being convicted of multiple counts of child sex abuse. A judge announced on Monday that he will sentence Sandusky on October 9.
This comes four months after a jury found Sandusky guilty on 45 counts of sexual abuse back in June. Prosecutors said the abuse involved ten boys, and happened over a 15 year period, and some of the assaults happened on the Penn State campus.
The case also led to the ousting of Penn State's longtime head football coach, Joe Paterno, who died shortly after he was fired. Sandusky could face up to life in prison when he is sentenced.
