After tallying all the votes, Republicans Steve Sessler and Eric Schiener each have 1,879 votes.

According to the Livingston County elections commissioner, there are four absentee votes in question that could potentially break the tie. The commissioner says three of those ballots have extra markings on them, and on the fourth, there is a question as to the application of the ballot.

The race will now be decided in court where a judge will likely rule on the validity of the ballots.
