Apple took pre-orders last week, but today's the day to try and buy one at retail stores. Some folks from the Rochester area definitely lost some sleep to be the first in line out at Eastview Mall in Victor.
The front entrance at Eastview looked a little like a campsite overnight, but this one had plenty I-pods, I-pads and I-phones.
Of course these people, all waiting for the mall to open and then once inside it's over to the Apple store to buy the I-phone 5.
Apple unveiled the new phone last week and said it has a larger display, but is thinner and lighter than the previous models. That's why Mike McLaughlin says he wants one.
This high school student got to Eastview at 4:00 am with his best friends.
McLaughlin said, "I actually sold my phone in Ebay so I could afford this......it's pretty exciting."
Those two are in school today, admitted it will be tough not to play with the new phone and I-Pad.
I-phone's are the the most popular smartphone with more than 244 million sold in the last six years.
