Walk Held to Celebrate Recovery
The Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare hosted its 1st annual Recovery Walk in Rochester Saturday.
The event was at Cobbs Hill Park, where people walked around the reservoir.
They celebrated those who have been successful in embracing recovery from alcohol and drug abuse. The event also helped showcase and educate people more on treatment and recovery.
SBH President, Jeremy Klemanski, hopes the walk will help people understand the road it takes for those looking to live a life in recovery.
Klemanski said,"A life of recovery is not a one stop thing, it's not a quick thing. It's a whole life change and it's a journey and it takes a community to support you to make that happen."
SBH has helped over 700 people in Rochester. It has operations in Syracuse and Rochester offering in-patient detoxification and evaluation services.
