This happened shortly after noon. Police say they found a 56-year-old man laying in the driveway behind the home at 343 Weaver Street.

Investigators say the victim was checking on the rear of the property when he was confronted by two people.

"Unknown what lead up to the incident. However, at some point during the confrontation he was shot. Male was transported by Rural Metro to Strong Hospital," said Lt. Jeremy Lindauer of the RPD.

The victim was shot in the lower torso and underwent surgery. The severity of his injuries are unknown. Rochester police did not release his identity, but say he does not live in the city.
