It happened just before seven o'clock in the town of Stanley.

Ontario County Sheriff's deputies say 26-year-old Christopher Trottier was riding his motorcycle on Lake to Lake Road when he lost control, went off the road, through some yards, hit a utility pole, then landed in a ditch.

He was taken to Geneva General Hospital where he died.

Deputies did not say what caused Trottier to lose control.
