We first told you about the PAWS animal outreach program back in February.
PAWS, or Providing Animal Welfare Services, is a not for profit agency that offers a licensing program, low cost vaccinations and training workshops for dogs and owners.
The agency recently teamed with the local carpenters union to build new dog houses to donate to dog owners in need.
PAWS also has plans to create school programs to help kids understand animal cruelty, neglect and dog fighting. Its ultimate goal is help the people of Rochester become better dog owners.
Founder Matt Piccone says education and small services make a big difference in keeping dogs safe.
Matt Piccone said, "It's working. We see people becoming responsible dog owners all the time. It really is working, people are realizing how important it is to vaccinate and just keep up on the regular things for their dogs and making sure they're safe and sound in their homes."
PAWS will be holding a fund raiser next Sunday from one to five at Webster's Premier sports center.
