SWEDEN, N.Y. -- The man accused of killing Alexandra Kogut, is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Clayton Whittemore, 21, of New Hartford, was arraigned in Sweden Town Court on Saturday.

State Police arrested him at a Thruway rest stop in DeWitt near Syracuse hours earlier. Police said Whittemore had visited his girlfriend at the college on Friday night.

The felony complaint by police said Whittemore admitted to killing Kogut, but he pleaded not guilty to second degree murder during his arraignment. He is now being held without bail.
