Brockport Hosting Domestic Violence Awareness Events
Alexandra Kogut, 18, was beaten to death in her dorm room over the weekend.

Police arrested her boyfriend Clayton Whittemore and charged him with second degree murder in connection with her death. Police say Whittemore admitted to killing Kogut in the early morning hours on Saturday.

The College at Brockport is embracing its Select Respect Week, with events dedication to domestic violence. The College is holding a "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event Wednesday.

Students are encouraged to sign a pledge promising not to engage in domestic violence. At the same time, some of the male students will strap on high heels and walk across campus to demonstrate their commitment to stopping domestic violence.

The college is hosting several other events about domestic violence later this week.
