Crime Lab Technician Made DNA Errors
The New York State Office of Forensic Services confirmed it received a letter from the Monroe County Crime Lab last month in which it says a technician at the lab made technical errors while processing DNA casework last year.
The letter states the employee made errors from May of 2011 to October 2011. The letter states the tests were done with and without supervision.
The Crime Lab's DNA Technical leader said in the letter more than 20 DNA cases the employee performed will be re-analyzed.
According to the letter, the employee has been removed from all case work.
