Jobs are being eliminated at GEVA Theatre.
Theatre officials confirmed the cost-cutting measures in a letter to donors.
In the letter, GEVA officials cited an operating deficit of $1.3 million. To offset the shortfall, five full time positions are being eliminated. Those jobs are in marketing, development and production.
In addition, workers in the production shops will receive "unpaid furloughs" between productions.
The changes were effective September 20th.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of GEVA Theatre in Rochester.
