According to Strong Hospital, a Macedon woman ejected from her car in a crash Thursday evening has died from her injuries.

The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Penfield Road. Police say a car driven by 65-year old James Maher was struck as it was turning onto Watson Road, east of Route 250.

His wife, 49 year old Ellen Maher was riding in the back seat with her two-year-old grandson. The impact of the crash threw her from the car. She was taken to Strong Hospital, where she died Friday.

Her husband, their daughter, and the toddler were not seriously injured.

Sheriff's deputies say the driver of the other vehicle, 25-year old Michael Tyson of Macedon, was not injured. Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

There are no charges at this point, but according to police, witnesses report Tyson was travelling at a very high rate of speed
