George Eastman House Hosts Photo Finish 5K
George Eastman's legacy is living on in Rochester as more than a thousand people participated in the Eastman House Photo Finish 5K Saturday morning.
The fundraiser is considered a "philanthropy challenge," or a way to allow multiple organizations to benefit from one event. The money raised goes to more than 50 different non profit organizations.
Organizers say this is only the second year of the event but it has already raised half a million dollars.
Dresden Engle of the george Eastman House said, "People come together. It's crowd-sourcing, it's a way to support Rochester. It's also George Eastman's legacy continued. He wanted Rochester to be the best place to live and work and Rochester proves that time and time again."
The runners started on University Avenue and ran through the Neighborhood of the Arts and past the George Eastman House on East Avenue.
