People Rally Against Bullying
The Step In, Speak Out rally was held at Highland Park.
The rally aimed to build awareness of the bullying prevention movement in Monroe County
by encouraging people to step in and speak out in support of each other.
The event included food, games, a kids carnival, music, entertainment, and speakers.
Susan Gilchrist, the event manager, said, "We also have personal stories of bullying, that both adults and youth will be sharing. And they're going to share their stories to help us learn and understand what we could do differently."
Organizers say bullying education is critical to make our community a safe place to grow up.
