The remains of a former Penfield soldier killed in Afghanistan will be shipped to Italy to be with his family.
Sergeant First Class Daniel Metcalfe, 29, was on foot patrol September 29th when his unit came under small arms fire.
Sergeant Metcalfe served in the army for 11 years and was part of the 173rd Airborne stationed out of Italy.
Metcalfe is survived by his wife and three children who live in Italy.
