Flags to Be Flown at Half Staff for Sgt. Daniel Metcalfe
The governor has ordered flags on all state buildings be flown at half staff Tuesday in honor of a Penfield native who died in Afghanistan.
Sergeant First Class Daniel Metcalfe died when his unit was attacked.
Governor Cuomo says the flag lowering is a way to honor Metcalfe's service.
More than a hundred people came to pay their respects to the 29-year-old last Thursday in Macedon.
Metcalfe is survived by his wife and three young kids. Metcalfe was honored at Arlington National Cemetery before his remains were shipped to Italy to be with his family.
