Statement Suppressed in Pilato Case
A judge has suppressed a statement a Webster teen allegedly made to police following a house fire that killed his father and two brothers.
Michael Pilato's attorney says Judge Vincent Dinolfo suppressed the alleged statement because police did not notify a parent or have a parent present at the time Pilato was questioned. He was 15 at the time.
Pilato is charged with murder and attempted murder and arson. Police say he set his Cardile Drive home on fire with the intent of killing his family.
His father Carmen and brothers Josh and Peter died in the fire. His mother and sister were injured.
Pilato's trial is set to begin January 14th.
