CSEA Members Agree on New Labor Contract
The Civil Service Employees Association and Monroe County have agreed on a new labor contract. Its last contract expired in 2008.
Union leaders say this deal is from 2009 through 2013, but offers no retroactive wage increases from 2009 through 2011.
The agreement does allow for a $250 bump in salary this year and a two percent raise in 2013. The union says in exchange, they will be able to retain benefits for retirees and a health insurance plan.
There are more than 1,900 CSEA workers in Monroe County.
