Trial of Man Accused in Shooting Death of Rochester Native Continues
Closing arguments were held Thursday in DeKalb County, Georgia, in the trial of a man accused of shooting two police officers to death. One of those officers was a Rochester native.
Officers Ricky Bryant and Eric Baker were shot and killed while working off-duty security jobs back in 2008.
William Woodard could face the death penalty if convicted. He claims he shot the off-duty cops in self defense.
The 26-year-old Bryant grew up in Rochester before moving to Georgia with his wife and three children. Following his death, Bryant was returned to Rochester for burial.
