A man died today while working on farm equipment. It happened in Scottsville around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said the victim, 53-year-old Michael Krenzer, was in a barn working on a combine-head at the time of the accident.

"The combine head was detached from the combine itself, it was lifted up by a forklift, however while the male was working on the piece of equipment, the combine head slipped off the tongs of the forklift and fell on top of him," said Sgt. Dean Tunhill.

Deputies said another worker inside the barn did his best to free Krenzer, but by the time he was able to lift the piece of equipment off the man it was too late.
