Man Dies in Phelps Crash
Sheriff's deputies in Ontario County are investigating what caused a driver in Phelps to swerve and crash into a tractor trailer and then another vehicle.
It happened friday morning.
Deputies tell us 64-year-old Joseph Spezio of Naples, Florida was driving down Route 14 when he swerved into the opposite lane and sideswiped a tractor trailer. They say the car then crashed into an oncoming car.
Spezio and the driver of the other car, 46-year-old Jeffrey LaDue, were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.
Police say Spezio died Saturday due to his injuries. LaDue remains in satisfactory condition.
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
The crash is still under investigation.
