More than 700 workers marched through the campus Saturday. Members of the SEIU say they are protesting pay and the University's plan to cut into employee health and welfare benefits.
One worker tells us, she needs these benefits to help pay for her son's healthcare costs.
"I have two children and both have regular check-ups. I can't imagine having to pay out of pocket just for healthcare, visits to the hospital. Alone, just the prescription that my son has to take is pretty expensive," says Devery Reid-Holmes, Union Worker at the U of R.
Union workers tell us they could strike, if they don't see progress between their union and the University.
