The first afternoon rush hour for Brighton's new diverging diamond intersection did not go entirely smoothly on Tuesday.
Emergency crews responded for a multiple car crash shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday at the off-ramp of Interstate 590 northbound.
No word exactly how the crash happened. Fire officials say three drivers were involved,
but they were not hurt.
Brighton's fire chief added that this is the first crash since the diverging diamond traffic pattern went into effect about a month ago.

State and Monroe County Transportation representatives Tuesday officially opened the new diverging diamond intersection in Brighton.
The new intersection requires driver to briefly drive on the opposite side of the road by crossing at a signalized intersection. The idea is to reduce congestion and wait time.
The $4.9 million project is the first of its kind in New York State.
