It happened at the intermediate school on West Street around 11:30.

Superintendent Robert Ike said the fire started in a utility closet at the school and was contained to the closet. Ike said the school was evacuated and no one was hurt.

The Superintendent said the students went home shortly after the fire due to an already planned early dismissal and not because of the fire.
