Former President Bill Clinton gave voters his stamp of approval to reelect Congresswomen Louise Slaughter and Kathy Hochul.

President Clinton rallied for the Democratic candidates at the Main Street Armory in Rochester to thousands who came out.

It was an political event that pushed the slogan "Move Forward."

"We will not stand still. We will not go back. We will elect Louise and Kathy because they are going to move our city to move this state and our nation forward," said Lovely Warren, Rochester City Council President.

As many as 4,000 people came out to hear President Clinton speak and support Kathy Hochul and Louise Slaughter.

"To have his validation that he wants people like me back in Washington, I think is important. There's a lot of Republicans in this district who supported him, who supported his wife Hillary because they represent something very different, so I'm honored to have his support," said Hochul, 26th Congressional District.

Former Republican Erie County Executive Chris Collins is running against Hochul and Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks is running against Slaughter.

"I can tell you this, after twelve years as a Governor, eight years as President and all these years since. I know what works," said Clinton.

Clinton told voters what works is keeping Hochul and Slaughter in Congress. He says failure to do that, could impact federal laws regarding things like student loans, even health care.

"They want to repeal the student loan law which I believe Louise Slaughter brought to the floor of the house," said Clinton.

It's an election that's just two weeks away. And as Clinton left shaking the hands of voters,
his hope was that they'd leave continuing the candidates campaign to "Move forward."
