The University of Rochester is celebrating a monumental achievement by one of its professors.
Dr. Morris J. Shapiro has been practicing medicine since 1946 in Rochester. Next week, Dr. Shapiro turns 99 years old, but his age hasn't slowed him down as he continues to work five days a week.
He says there's a simple key to his longevity.
"It isn't truly work, it's pleasure. What I'm doing is very pleasant. I'm still in medicine, medicine is my avocation as well as my vocation. I enjoy everyday of it, it's a challenge and I enjoy a challenge," Shapiro said.
Shapiro is currently a professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester.
