Grand Jury Indictment Charges Mother in Death of Toddler
YNN has learned that a Monroe County Grand Jury has indicted an Irondequoit woman on manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide for the death of her two-and-a-half year old.
Stephanie DeSalvo's daughter, Baileyann DeSalvo-Velazquez, died November 22nd, 2010.
According to the indictment, DeSalvo's live-in boyfriend, William Bradley, is facing the same charges.
Police in Irondequoit initially investigated the case as a suspicious death at the couple's Spencer Road home.
In the indictment, the grand jury said Bradley said the child was sick and he gave her Children's Tylenol for her cold. He said she stayed awake for a while, as he watched television.
Bradley said he eventually fell asleep and when he checked on her she was face-down and unresponsive. That's when he says he woke DeSalvo up and they called 911.
The indictment does not say the cause of Baileyann's death.
We're expected to learn more Wednesday when Stephanie DeSalvo is due in court.
