Keeping An Eye On Hurricane Sandy
Governor Cuomo has declared a state of emergency as Hurricane Sandy is expected to slam into the East Coast next week.
Right now, Sandy is a Category One storm but it's being blamed for at least 21 deaths in the Caribbean.
Governor Cuomo has activated the state's emergency crews to the hurricane. Cuomo says storm preparations are expensive, and with a tight state budget, he's in constant talks with meteorologists to bring balance.
"We're doing everything we can to be prepared. We don't want to overreact, because there is chance the storm just turns and goes out to sea," said Cuomo.
Cuomo added that he is erring on the side of caution, especially after witnessing the devastation caused by Hurricane Irene.
