Two Taken to Hospital Following Fire
Two people were taken to the hospital after a fire in a Rochester apartment building late Thursday night.
Fire crews were called to Manor Parkway Apartments just after 10 p.m. Firefighters say there was heavy smoke coming out of a first floor apartment when they got there.
They say everyone was out of the building, but two people were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation and other minor injuries.
They say the fire was contained to only one of the four apartments in the building, but the Red Cross is helping with housing.
Chuck Stadler, of the Rochester Fire Department, said, "The fire was severe enough where it may have gotten into some interior walls so we usually keep people out of the building for at least 24 hours or overnight so they're not going to be able to go back in."
No word yet what caused the fire.
