Airlines Canceling Flights Due to Sandy
Travelers should expect delays and cancelations as Sandy continues on its path.
United Airlines has already canceled several flights to and from mid-Atlantic and northeast airports starting tonight. The airline is also limiting and suspending service at multiple airports Monday due to the severe weather forecast.
Flights going into and out of Rochester and Buffalo are affected so travelers are advised to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.
United says customers can reschedule their flights or request a refund.
Also, Erie Canal boaters are being advised to get their vessels out of the water before Sandy hits.
The State Canal Corporation will bring down the canal's water level to prevent flooding by drawing water into the Mohawk River.
Levels will dip low enough to prevent boats from passing through certain parts.
Tropical storms Irene and Lee caused heavy damage along the canal system last year.
