It was the 23rd year for the Al Sigl community walkabout Sunday. Held at Eastview Mall, hundreds of people came supported the primary fundraiser for Al Sigl agencies.
This year the event added a new part, "Masks with a Mission." The mask decorating program provided art therapy for agency members and helped individuals and businesses get involved by donating masks. They were auctioned off as a part of the fundraiser.
People walked around the mall, enjoyed Irish dancers, zumba and even competed in a costume contest.
Co-chair of the event Laura Saxby-Lynch says it was a great way to get donators and participants together.
"This brings together the two parts of the community in a way that really expresses the value of supporting and raising money to continue services that are so critical to so many people in our community," said Laura Saxby-Lynch, event co-chair.
Al Sigl Community is a network that helps provide low cost, effective real estate to organizations who serve children and adults with disabilities.
